Registering your Account
This article describes how to log into your account to complete your onboarding checks. There are two different log-in options (entering your unique registration and/or registering an account). If you have previously logged into Credas and registered your email, please click here.
The method that you have been asked to log-in with, will depend on which check the Law Firm has issued you. Both of these checks are explained below.
The article is split into the following four sections:
1) Receiving your Invitation;
2) Downloading the Credas App & Unique Registration Code;
3) Account Registration;
4) Forgotten your password?
1. Receiving your Invitation
- To begin your tasks, you will be sent an invitation via email/SMS which will highlight your unique registration code, as can be seen below. You will need this unique registration code if you have been asked to complete tasks via our App, and you will also need to specify the unique registration code if you need help at any point.
- To start your check, click the URL in the SMS or the 'continue' button in the email. This will take you to our registration page.
The next steps will depend on the check that has been issued to you.
2. Downloading the Credas App & Unique Registration Code
- Once you have clicked the link in your invitation email and/or SMS; you will either be taken to our web-app or the Apple App Store/Google Play Store to download the Credas App. Some of our checks can only be completed via the app to meet the UK Government's standards.
To access our web-app, please visit here: My Connect
To download the Credas app on the Apple App Store, please visit here: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/credas/id1231930028
To download the Credas app on the Google Play Store, please visit here:
- If you are required to download the Credas app but do not have access to a smartphone, please read our advice here.
- On the Credas app, you will be asked to enter your unique registration code. The unique registration code will be specified in your invitation.
- Once you have entered your registration code, you will be taken straight into your check; or you will need to register an account with us.
If you have been asked to register your email with us, please read the instructions in step three.
3. Registering an Account
- If you have been asked to register an account with Credas, you will need to enter your email address which may be pre-populated already. An access code will then be sent to your email which you will need to enter. You will also be asked to create a password, please ensure this is easy to remember in case you need to log back in at any point.
- You will then be asked whether you want to set-up your account by verifying your mobile number, or using the authentication app. We recommend verifying your mobile number if you have a UK mobile number, and for overseas users, using the authenticatior app.
Authenticatior App: If you are setting up your account via the authenticatior app, you will have to download an authenticator app on your phone such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. You can view examples of using an Authenticator App here. Once downloaded you can scan the QR code. If you are unable to scan the QR code, please click 'Can't scan the QR?' and you will be given a code to enter in the app instead.
Credas will then appear in your Authenticator app as 'Connect' giving you a verification code to enter into the website.
SMS Verification: For SMS verification, please ensure you are using a UK dialing code, you will then receive an SMS with a code to enter to finish your 2FA. If you do not receive a code, we recommend using the Authenticator App.
- You now have registered your account with us and you can start your onboarding tasks. You will be taken to a dashboard where you can clearly see what tasks you have been asked to complete, as can be seen in the image below.
Please click on one of the tasks to start and follow their instructions. If you need to log back into your account at any point, you can do so here - My Connect
We offer a selection of onboarding tasks for Law Firms to choose from, these different tasks have different legislative requirements and therefore some can only be completed via the Credas App.
However, if you do not have a smartphone, and you have been issued a task that does not let you complete via the web, we recommend you speaking to the Law Firm who issued you the check, they will either send you a different Credas check that allows you to complete via the web, or they will provide an alternative way for you to complete your onboarding.
4. Forgotten your Password?
If you have been asked to complete another check, and need to log back into your account but you have forgetten your password, please enter your email address here - My Connect and click 'Forgotten Password'. Please ensure you are using the same email address that you originally registered with.
